Shipwreck of sailing vessel in the beach surf at night , this is
a hauntingly beautiful oil on canvas signed by Charles
Theller Wilson ( 1855 - 1920 ) , a listed artist. Painting is in its
original lemon gold frame with some very minimal damage to
the corners.

raised panel door dating from the 1840`s.
Large crown molding top slides off for easy erection of the
cabinet into a limited ceiling height. Tremendous storage
space on five shelves plus the base area.
Dimensions : 91 1/2 " high x 47 1/2 "wide x 27 1/2 "( at top
corner points of the crown molding ) . This top molding
slides off so cabinet can be stood upright and then the
decorative molding can be slid on close to the ceiling.

Sheraton mahogany six drawer bureau with acanthus
leaf carvings on the two front columns. Case boards are
hand planed , drawer bottoms are also hand chamfered
with book matched veneer front boards. Fine dovetailing
throughout this quality piece and the use of square cut
nails help to authenticate its 1840 origin.The back
splash is a replacement with its design copied from a
template of a back splash from a similar period piece ,
We maintain a template file of all back splashes that go
through our restoration shop.
The pulls are Sheraton style reproductions from the
Horton Brass Company of CT. specialists in period
reproduction hardware.

drawers over a single large master drawer over double door storage
cabinet with a single fitted shelf.
Drawer fronts are flame crotch mahogany veneers. Cabinet door
panels are of solid 1/4 " thick book - matched flame mahogany
boards ( not veneer ) .
Drawer bottoms are hand planed and chamfered with fine dove
tailing throughout. Original back splash and keyhole escutcheons .
The pulls are replacements from Horton Brass Company and are in
a design consistant with the age of the piece.
Acquired in Maine ; but could be originally from Maryland.
An imposing , dramatic addition to a period home or a contemporary
setting where a design statement is to be made.
