Pre 1872 six board pine chest. Grain painted in original
black and red paint. Has till and secret compartment
which contains documentation of the chest`s origin and
date. Documents go with this Maine chest. Original cast
iron hinges plus ivory escutcheon. Hand - planed
boards, and square cut nails throughout.

Classical Period dressing table , circa 1880`s.
Mahogany colored finish over pine.Square cut nails ,
dovetailed drawer joints, hand chamfered drawer
bottoms. Pulls are original as are the mirror
mountings.Frame of the mirror is in mahogany veneer
over pine.
Paper label on back of the piece reads " Betterly for
Betterwork Antique & Modern Furniture - Custom Work
Solicited - 16 North Street, Bangor , ME ."
Written on back in pencil is the word "Butterfield "
possibly the client`s name .

Classical Period three over four drawer bureau with a
mahogany case , and crotch mahogany book matched
veneers on drawer fronts Circa 1840 - 1850. Scroll
design front feet with turned round rear feet all original.
Square cut nails , original pulls , hand chamfered drawer
bottoms and fine dovetailing. Back splash is a
replacement made of solid mahogany . The design is from
a template copied from an original piece of the same
period .
