black and red paint. Has till and secret compartment
which contains documentation of the chest`s origin and
date. Documents go with this Maine chest. Original cast
iron hinges plus ivory escutcheon. Hand - planed
boards, and square cut nails throughout.

Written on back in pencil is the word "Butterfield "
possibly the client`s name .

are book matched 1/4 " thick flame mahogany boards.

throughout. Square cut nails , mortise and tenon door
joints and hand planed and chamfered back
boards.Two drawers directly under the top ( one is
divided for silver flatware ) are complemented by three
graduated center drawers. Flanking cabinets feature
two shaped shelves on the right . Left cabinet has one
shelf.
