full sail for the open ocean. The artist`s mastery of luminosity in this oil on
canvas is clearly evident in this powerful seascape.
Signature on lower right reads " Gegine "or
" Gerin " difficult to authenticate name. Professionally framed .

original contoured back splash. Primary woods are birch and maple
Hand cut dovetails and chamfered drawer bottoms. Nicely turned legs with
casters. Backboards hand planed and fastened with square cut nails.
Typical Down East design and construction featuring spare decoration and
maximum utilization of the materials .
Pulls and escutcheons are solid brass reproductions in correct Sheraton
design for the period. Refinished in red milk paint with a shellac top coat
(matching the original color and finish ) and hand polished with paste wax.

Federal period ca :1820 solid cherry two over three
drawer bureau trimmed with exotic mahogany veneers,
Drawer fronts feature book matched flame mahogany
veneers. Backboards are wide , hand planed, and
attached with square cut nails. Exquisite fine
dovetailing throughout. Pulls are replacements and
duplicates of this period`s design from Horton Brasses
The back splash is original to the piece.

Solid mahogany drop leaf table ca 1890 .An unusual
construction feature is that the mahogany top and
leaves are a full one inch thick not the usual 3/4 "
thick boards. Tight, finely grained mahogany with very
old diamond shaped patch in the top covering two
small holes where knots fell out. Nicely turned legs
with large blocks in the old New York style.
